As you know, Russia has launched a devastating attack on Ukraine and its people.  The aggression has had a substantial impact on civilians and we know millions of Ukrainians have fled the country in search of refuge.

The Roman Catholic Diocese of Peterborough reached out to the Ukrainian Catholic Eparchy of Toronto and Eastern Canada to ask how we can help.    The Eparchy has recommended that the Diocese encourage our parishes and parishioners to donate and they have provided advice on how to do so.  In this regard, the Diocese has made a $10,000 donation to Ukraine to help ease the suffering of the Ukrainian people

You are asked to consider how you might be able to help the Ukrainian people at this time.  Here are two suggestions:

  • KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS Join us today in supporting Ukraine Solidarity Fund (kofc.org)  100% of your gift will go directly to these displaced people through the Knights of Columbus Ukraine Solidarity Fund.  The website automates the donation to USD funds, just click the drop-down button to switch to CAD funds.
  • CATHOLIC NEAR EAST WELFARE ASSOCIATION CNEWA Canada | Catholic Near East Welfare Association.  CNEWA Canada typically holds back 10% of donated funds to administer the organization.  For the crisis in Ukraine, this fee has been lowered to 5% so 95% of your donation goes directly to Ukraine.
