Pastoral reference letters for people who wish to teach in the Catholic school system are an important way of ensuring that our teachers are people of faith. As such, it is important that these letters honestly reflect the level of commitment and practice of the faith of the person for whom they are written. Ideally, the pastor should know you well if you are requesting a pastoral reference. However, we recognize that it is not always possible for a pastor to know every single applicant well. Please contact the parish office for further information.

If you require a pastoral letter for a leadership position in our Catholic school system (e.g. department head, consultant, vice principal, principal, coordinator or superintendent,), it is important that you are a practicing member of the parish. The pastor will be unable to write a letter of reference for a leadership position without having knowledge of you in this capacity. If the pastor does have some personal knowledge of you, then please contact him directly.
